Just in Time

So last time in the adventures of the elegant economist, I was trying to make myself a swift, which actually turned out quite well. I bought myself a ball winder, and yarn scale. I was ready to do some serious ball winding. And then it all arrived, I set it all up, and I had like 2 skeins to wind. I was suddenly wondering what the justification was for all this knitting extravagance.

Then my sisters received the latest knit picks catalog. They both went gaga eyed at the seasons shawls. Janet the bright colored spring/summer one, while Meredith preferred the more sensible, but equally colorful and beautiful fall/winter shawl.

Like the good sister that I am, I ordered both kits to make for each of their christmas presents. I got this delivered later that week.

See all those gorgeous colors laying out on my beautiful amish styled swift?

Doesn’t my ball winder make a pretty ball?
