Voila

I actually got the chance to write up that pattern. I found a great tech editor and it’s up and available on ravelry if you’re interested.

It was really good for me to go through the whole process from beginning to end of designing something, writing it up, testing it, hiring a tech editor, making edits, and putting up on ravelry. I’m so glad my first time doing that didn’t involve six sizes, and three charts. That, in retrospect would have been really, really overwhelming. As it is I now have some experience under my belt, and I’m chomping at the bit for December 23nd to roll around, when I won’t have a formal full-time job, and I can get to work putting together all the designs that get dreamed about every day.

Visions of Christmas Decorations Dance in My Head

I’m getting very excited about christmas. I’m making all kinds of plans to make my own ornaments. Of course I wanted to knit some of them. It dawned on me yesterday that tiny knitted apples would be the most cunning little homemade ornament.

I threw together a design and knitted up a sample last night. It turned out about as adorable as I envisioned. It’s about 2.5″ tall, knit on size 0 needles with some left over knit picks kettle dyed stroll in the wine colorway. Unfortunately it’s discontinued. But any fingering weight yarn would work. The leaf is knit picks shadow lace in the¬†forest heather¬†colorway held double. The stem was made of the only brown yarn I had, 100% alpaca DK weight. You could really use any weight for the stem.

I’m hoping to type it up and make it available. We’ll see.
